چکیده

The paper describes a simple but effective method for incorporating automatically learned tempo models into realtime music tracking systems. In particular, instead of training our system with ‘rehearsal data’ by a particular performer, we provide it with many different interpretations of a given piece, possibly by many different performers. During the tracking process the system continuously recombines this information to come up with an accurate tempo hypothesis. We present this approach in the context of a real-time tracking system that is robust to almost arbitrary deviations from the score (e.g. omissions, forward and backward jumps, unexpected repetitions or re-starts) by the live performer.

Real-time Music Tracking Using Tempo-aware On-line Dynamic Time Warping

This extended abstract describes our real-time music tracking system, which was submitted to the MIREX 2010 Score Following task. Our system is based on an on-line version of the well-known Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) algorithm and includes some extensions to improve both the precision and the robustness of the alignment (e.g. a tempo model and the ability to reconsider past decisions).

Integrating Tempo Tracking and Quantization using Particle Filtering

We present a probabilistic switching state space model for timing deviations in expressive music performance. We formulate tempo tracking and automatic transcription (rhythm quantization) as filtering and maximum a posteriori (MAP) state estimation tasks. The resulting model is suitable for real-time tempo tracking and transcription and hence useful in a number of music applications such as ada...

A Two-Fold Dynamic Programming Approach to Beat Tracking for Audio Music with Time-Varying Tempo

Automatic beat tracking and tempo estimation are challenging tasks, especially for audio music with timevarying tempo. This paper proposes a two-fold dynamic programming (DP) approach to deal with beat tracking with time-varying tempo. In particular, the first DP computes the tempo curve from the tempogram. The second DP identifies the optimum beat positions from the novelty and tempo curves. E...

A Tempogram-based Probabilistic Dynamic Model of Beat Tracking for Audio Music

Automatic beat tracking and tempo estimation are challenging tasks, especially for audio music with timevarying tempo. This paper proposes tempogram-based probabilistic dynamic model to deal with beat tracking with time-varying tempo. In particular, the tempogram is the base to obtain correct beat positions. The probabilistic model to estimate the beat positions include tempogram strength model...

Robust Real - Time Music Tracking

This paper describes our ’any-time’ real-time music tracking system which is based on an on-line version of the well-known Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) algorithm and includes some extensions to improve both the precision and the robustness of the alignment (e.g. a tempo model and the ability to reconsider past decisions). A unique feature of our system is the ability to cope with arbitrary struct...
